Introducing ‘Between The Lines’, a page in which I aim to unpick the prose, poetry and artwork that I publish on this site – without taking too much away from the imagination!
Some instalments may be more of a casual, light hearted reflection on the piece, and to others I might take more of an academic approach. I guess it all depends on how I’m feeling on the day, and what I think the piece is calling out for.
I won’t be posting a Between The Lines to accompany everything that I publish, because A) Ain’t nobody got time for that, and B) I’m pretty sure I heard somewhere that much of the beauty lies in what is left unsaid.
With that in mind, I have considered that perhaps I shouldn’t be writing any commentary at all, but as you’ll come to learn (mostly likely in the diary section of this blog), I die hard for a splash of word vomit and I just cannot help myself. I have formal noise complaints from my work office to back this claim…
Oh, also note that the ‘Between The Lines’ tab will basically be a minefield of SPOILERS! And I know if there’s one thing that ruffles twenty-first century feathers, it’s a fucking spoiler. But never fear, I’ll be adding the appropriate alerts to all posts featured here. This will apply mainly to prose, but potentially poetry or even artwork too, because who doesn’t love an oil painting with an M. Night Shyamalan plot twist? Literally no one.
